Full-Time Electronics Technician
Job Description
Position Summary
The Electronics Technician performs basic safety and repair procedures on Company equipment, using a multimeter and precision tools, measuring devices, and basic operations to include but not limited to: duties of lower level technicians, troubleshooting NexTier equipment and networking issues along with performing other related duties as required. Skills are typically acquired by completion of the competency requirements. Key Accountabilities Perform and complete all essential functions required of Level 2 Electronic Technicians Knowledge of all related tools and software. Able to use engine and transmission diagnostic software. Able to perform an instrumentation PM and emergency repairs when needed. Able to repair, troubleshoot and maintain 12 and 24 Volt DC systems. Knowledge of all cable types used. Able to build new cables. Able to troubleshoot, replace and calibrate all sensors. Knowledge of specific hydraulic and pneumatic components. Able to troubleshoot and replace hydraulic and pneumatic components. Able to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Knowledge of specific control systems. Able to troubleshoot control systems problems Able to replace control system components Able to read control system schematics. Knowledge of specific engine/transmission electronics. Able to assist with troubleshooting and repair of engine/transmission electronics Able to read engine/transmission electronics schematics Able to tune and edit control software settings Able to assist with control system upgrades Able to troubleshoot complex network and equipment Coach/Mentor cable repair and building Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they are able to understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English Ability to use simple mathematical calculations Must possess a vast knowledge of sensors used in oilfield electronics Must complete FOCUS training upon hire Adheres to Company policies and work requirements Requires maintained eligibility to drive company vehicles Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures and applicable regulations Performs work on his/her own as well as provides assistance to other employees as directed Must participate in all company provided training Skills required for this position are typically acquired through completion of on the job training as an entry level Electronics Technician Minimum Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent – Required Associate’s Degree – Preferred Applicable Experience – Required Minimum Required Work Experience 1-4 years – Required Licenses and Certifications Valid Driver’s License – Required Commercial Driver’s License – Preferred
