Full-Time Measurement Technician

Job Description

The measurement technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and accuracy of crude oil measurement equipment in the assigned area which includes but not limited to flow computers, Coriolis meters, ultrasonic meters, automated ball proving systems, automated crude oil sample systems, SCADA equipment, regulators, and transducers.Essential duties and responsibilities:• Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate crude oil measurement & control equipment, automated proving systems, automated crude oil sample systems, and SCADA equipment.• Batch sample testing of crude oil “onsite.”• Detect problems with measurement equipment, sample system equipment, and prover system equipment making corrections to volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation.• Monitor product volumes through the measurement system and ensure all volume and product quality corrections are applied correctly.• Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to oil measurement equipment.• Assess all facets of assigned facilities to ensure accurate measurement and maintaining the product “lost and unaccounted for” with a high degree of ownership and within the established corporate goals.• Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary.• Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.• Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third-parties.• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.• Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.• Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.• Participate in regulatory inspections.• Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.• Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.• Other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or experience: • Associate’s degree in a technical field;
